Cole Macedo 4th in Final KWS/NARC Start of 2023 Season

PETERSEN MEDIA- Continuing to race near home during the month of October, Cole Macedo followed the King of the West/Northern Auto Racing Club to the Kern County on Saturday night as he finished fourth in what was his final start of the season with the 410ci series.
“Saturday night it was a lot of fun,” Cole Macedo said. “With a break in the World of Outlaws schedule, I had my brother Carson serving as my crew chief. He made some great calls all night, and at the end of the day we ended up fourth.”
Timing the Tarlton and Son Inc./Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions/Executive Auto Sales backed No. 21 in ninth quickest in time trials, Macedo lined up on the front row of his heat race.
Getting the jump, Macedo paced the field as he raced his way to the win. Picking up the heat race win, the Lemoore, CA driver punched his ticket into the Dash where the one pill put him on the front row.
Continuing to bounce ideas off his older brother with the tricky track conditions, Macedo went on to pick up the Dash win and put the Tarlton Motorsports mount on the pole of the 30-lap feature event.
When the feature came to life, Macedo battled hard with the likes of soon-to-be KWS/NARC Champ, Corey Day, as they fought for the race lead. With Day getting the spot on the third lap, Macedo continued to hold tough has he continued to run in the Top-Three.
With the track staying fast, passing was tough as the field strung out as Macedo continued to run in the third position until a late restart bunched the field back up.
Trying a couple of things with time running out, Macedo lost a spot in doing so and capped the night off with a fourth-place finish.
“In the feature, the track kept moisture and grip longer than we thought and it hurt us a little,” Macedo added. “Still happy to finish fourth and had a lot of fun working with Carson. It was pretty cool to see him get out of his comfort zone and be on the other side of things. Hopefully it works out to where we can do it again one day.”
