PETERSEN MEDIA- In just his second ever start with a 410ci power plan bolted into the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21x, Cole Macedo raced wheel-to-wheel with some of the best in the business as he pocketed a fifth place finish at the Cotton Classic on Saturday night in Hanford, CA.

“It was a lot of fun getting back in the 410 on Saturday night,” Cole Macedo said. “During hot laps I wasn’t very comfortable but I was able to talk to my dad and Paul Baines and I felt like it was better every time we hit the track.”

Timing the Elite Landscape Construction/Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino/Tarlton and Son, Inc. No. 21x entry in 14th fastest in time trials amongst the 30-cars that were checked into the event, Macedo would take advantage of a front row starting position in his heat race as a second place finish put him in the Dash.

Moving into the six-lap Dash, Macedo would finish in the fourth position and that would place him in the second row for the 30-lap Cotton Classic feature event.

On a very rough and treacherous Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA, Macedo would have to be smart with ruts and holes making things difficult on all drivers.

Getting off to a nice start, Macedo would run in the sixth position as be battled with drivers like DJ Netto and Chase Johnson. Continuing to hold his own and get used to the added power, Macedo would soon hook up in battles with Tim and Bud Kaeding as they jockeyed for position in the Top-Five.

Not backing down, Macedo would hold his own as he battled with Tim Kaeding for fourth in the race’s closing laps. Getting next to Kaeding on the white flag lap, the duo would drag race to the finish with Macedo coming up just short and finishing fifth on this night.

“It was huge for me to race with the Kaeding brothers and compete,” Macedo said. “I can’t thank my uncle Tom Tarlton, Tommy Tarlton, and everyone who made it possible for me to run a 410 again, and I can’t wait to do it again.”

The Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2017 season.

ON TAP: Tarlton Motorsports will be back in action this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night in Tulare, CA for the 24th Annual Trophy Cup.
