PETERSEN MEDIA- Having a great run on Saturday night in Tulare, CA Cole Macedo would pick up a fifth place finish with the King of Thunder Series after leading laps early in the race.

“It was a pretty good night,” Cole Macedo said. “We had good speed all night long, and I had a blast battling with Mitchell Faccinto for the race lead.”

Timing the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales/Pabco Gypsum machine in ninth quickest in qualifying time trials, the Lemoore, CA driver would pick up an important Heat Race win and punch his ticket into the Dash.

Racing his way to a Dash win following a rain shower, Macedo would find himself on the pole for the new series’ 25-lap feature event.

When the race came to life, Macedo would jump out to the lead as he fended off Mitchell Faccinto. With cautions and red flags needed early in this one, numerous restarts would see the two drag race around the high banked oval, fighting for the lead with Macedo able to keep his grasp on the top spot.

Running very well on the high side of the speedway, Macedo would get a little breathing room until another stoppage would line the field back up on his rear bumper.

Fending off Faccinto for a lap, Macedo would lose the spot after a spirited battle and slip back to sixth until DJ Netto put his back to third. Working in traffic while chasing after Netto, Macedo would bobble and allow Shane Golobic and Justyn Cox both to get by before settling back in and capping his night off with a fifth place finish.

“We have been really fast so far in 2019, and that is a testament to the Tarlton Motorsports team,” Macedo added. “I have to thank Tom and Tommy Tarlton for sticking behind me and giving me another great opportunity.”

The Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2019 season.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-2, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-0.
