PETERSEN MEDIA- Checking in at Marysville Raceway on Saturday night with Tarlton Motorsports, Cole Macedo would get off to a slow start but would get hot when it counted as he charged from 13th to grab the win.
“We got off to a slow start, but my guys really went to work and put a really good car underneath me for the feature event,” Cole Macedo said. “We had some luck, but it’s always nice to have some good luck on your side.”
Timing the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales/Pabco Gypsum backed No. 21 machine in 17th fastest in qualifying time trials. Finishing fifth in his heat race, Macedo would find himself back in 13th for the feature event. When the race came to life, Macedo would show some patience as he would pick up a couple of quick positions.
On a rough and tumble Marysville Raceway surface, Macedo would continue to fight hard as he worked his way through the pack and found himself in second and trying to track down Sean Becker who was setting a blistering pace.
Running through traffic, Macedo would have a front row seat to a lapper getting into the race leader, and seeing the leader go over he would find himself out front.
Now in the lead, Macedo would not be denied on this night as he kept the field at bay and capped on an excellent charge from 13th to pick up his second win of the season.
“We never gave up despite the slow start, and we were really good in the feature event,’ Macedo said. “It is great to get a win, and I can’t thank everyone with the Tarlton Motorsports team for letting me come out and have some fun.”
