PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to Ocean Speedway on Friday night aboard a potent Tarlton Motorsports entry, Cole Macedo picked up another top-five at the racy quarter mile bullring as he came home with a fourth place finish.
“It was a decent night, and I could have done a little better, but we had a fast car and picked up another Top-Five,” Cole Macedo said.
Timing the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales/Pabco Gypsum backed No. 21x machine in fourth quickest in qualifying time trials, the Lemoore, CA driver would race to a fourth place finish in heat race competition.
Lining up seventh in the 30-lap feature event, Macedo would showcase some serious speed as he wasted no time working his way forward and into the lead group of cars.
Getting into third, Macedo would occupy the final position on the podium for a while as he continued to click off strong laps as he chased after race leader, Bud Kaeding. Pushing the limits a little too far, contact with the wall would slow Macedo’s pace and he would lose a spot and fall to fourth.
Racing in traffic, Macedo would look to get back into third in the race’s waning laps but a slower car would dictate his pace and he would take the checkered flag with a fourth place finish.
“In the feature we went forward, so that is definitely a good thing,” Macedo added. “I cant’ thank Paul and my Dad enough for working hard on the car all night, and as always a huge thanks to the Tarlton’s for continuing to let me drive for them.”
