Cole Macedo Looks To Build Off Runner Up Finish Tomorrow Night in Watsonville, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA- Coming off of a very impressive second place finish last Friday night at Ocean Speedway, Cole Macedo is eager to return to action tomorrow night as he continues to chase after that elusive first career feature event win.
“Paul Baines, my Dad, and everyone associated with the Tarlton Motorsports team really works hard to give me a good car, and have been really good the last few weeks,” Cole Macedo said. “Were getting close to a win, and I am looking forward to trying again tomorrow.”
Picking up a heat race win last Friday night in Watsonville, CA the Lemoore, CA driver would earn a berth in the Dash where a second place finish put the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino mount on the front row of the 30-lap feature event.
When the feature event came to life, Macedo jumped out to the early lead though he felt pressure from fellow youngster, Matthew Moles. With Moles actually taking the lead form Macedo on lap one, the yellow would negate the pass and Cole would continue to run the point.
The slick surface would prove challenging at times for Macedo, but the current Civil War Series point leader would hit his marks and keep a charging Justin Sanders at bay for a majority of the race.
As rubber would start to go down on the speedway, Macedo would make a subtle mistake but it was all that Sanders would need as he would sneak under and drop Macedo into second. Running second, Macedo would hang with Sanders but with Sanders in the rubber, Macedo would take home a strong second place finish.
Traveling to the Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday night, Macedo would continue to run very well as he went toe-to-toe with some of the regions best drivers and teams.
Earning quick time honors in his qualifying group, Macedo would race his way into the Dash where a third place finish put him in the second row of the feature event with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.
Following extensive track maintenance, Macedo would find himself mixing it up with some veteran aces as he ran strong inside the Top-Five. Battling for position with eventual race winner Tim Kaeding, and Willie Croft, Macedo would cap off a strong weekend with a sixth place finish.
“It was a great weekend and hopefully we can continue to move forward and I can continue to run well for my guys,” Macedo added. “The Tarlton’s give me a great opportunity and I would love to get this car in victory lane.”
The Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Yokut Gas, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2018 season.
