Cole Macedo Picks Up A Pair of World of Outlaws Top-15’s As Series Heads West

PETERSEN MEDIA- Making his way back to the West Coast with the World of Outlaws, Cole Macedo and the Tarlton Motorsports team picked up 12th and 14th place finishes over the weekend as the series did a double dip in North Dakota.

“Our race team is making gains every week,” Cole Macedo said. “I thought it was a really solid weekend for us in North Dakota, and transferring out of our heat both nights was huge.”

Friday night the series checked in at the River Cities Speedway where Macedo timed the Tarlton and Son Inc/Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions/Kelly Moore Paint backed No. 21 in 19th in qualifying time trials.

Lining up fifth in his heat race on the high banked bullring, the Lemoore, CA driver worked his way to a fourth-place finish in a fast paced heat race and locked himself into the feature event.

Lining up 15th in the ‘A’, Macedo got off to a strong start as he quickly worked his way into 13th as he battled hard on the bullring. Continuing to make steady progress in amidst a quickly moving 40-lap feature, Macedo moved into 12th on the 15th lap before breaking into the Top-10 on lap 22.

Falling back to 11th on the 36th lap, Macedo and David Gravel jockeyed for position in the closing stanzas before Gravel got the best of him on the last lap and put Macedo back to 12th coming to the checkered.

Saturday night the scene shifted to the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND where Macedo got off to another good start as he timed in 15th quickest in qualifying time trials.

Finishing fifth in his heat race, Macedo again locked into the feature event as he rolled off the starting grid from the 15thstarting position for the second night in a row.

Battling between 14th and 16th all race long, Macedo worked all over the racing surface looking for a lane to get some separation. Setting into 14th on the 23rd lap, Macedo held on to cap his weekend off with his second consecutive Top-15.

“It’s been a fun trip, and now we get back to some tracks where I have ran before, and have a little more confidence at,” Macedo added. “I’m thank for the Tarlton family as well as Sean and Felicity Dyson for their support of myself, Drew Warner, and this entire team.”

BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 42, Wins: 3, Top 5’s: 8, Top 10’s: 18.
