PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back to action with the Civil War Series pres. by Flowmaster over the weekend, Cole Macedo would have an impressive recovery on Saturday night that saw him rebound from a slow start and charge from 18th to finish third.

“It was a good confidence boost for me on Saturday night,” Cole Macedo said. ‘’We went out early in time trials which hurt, but my Dad and Tyron Tyra really gave me a great car in our heat and the feature and we were able to make it a great night.”

Saturday night in Marysville, CA, Maceod timed the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Yokut Gas backed No. 21x machine in 19th quickest in time trials.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, Macedo would get off to a nice start as he was able work his way up to third in the first few laps. With the leader having issues and losing power, Macedo would sneak by to take over second as he chased after Koen Shaw and really looked to turn his night around.

Unable to get by and earn a spot in the Dash, Macedo would still transfer into the feature event where he would find himself back in the 18th starting position. Just as he did in the heat race, the Lemoore, CA driver was able to continue to work his way forward on what was a hooked up surface.

Picking off what seemed like a car every other lap, Macedo would take advantage of some late restarts and found himself in the Top-Five late. Working into fourth, Macedo began chasing after Geoff Ensign for the final spot on the podium. During the race’s final lap, Macedo would execute the pass and close his night out with an impressive run from 18th to third.

Another series race was on tap Sunday night in Chico, CA during the annual Silver Dollar Fair race. With 41 cars in attendance on this night, Macedo timed in 14th fastest, which would be good enough to put him on the front row of his heat race.

Starting alongside Kalib Henry, Henry would end up getting the jump as Macedo then feel pressure from Shane Golobic. Running a patient heat, Maceod would again finish in the second position of his heat race and move into the 30-lap feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 13th starting position, Macedo would get involved in an incident on the eighth lap that would force him into the work area with extensive damage.

Going down a lap, the Tarlton Motorsports team with help from many others would continue to make repairs to Macedo’s machine and would get him back on track during the next stoppage as he only lost a lap.

Able to pick up a few positions over the course of the race the way things unfolded, Macedo would end his night with a 16th place finish.

“I really have to thank my guys and the other teams who came over to help get us back on track, especially Randy V and Tanner Thorson,” Macedo said. “If it wasn’t for them I don’t think we would have made it, so I really appreciate the help. I also have to thank everyone involved with Tarlton Motorsports for their support and this opportunity.”

The Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Yokut Gas, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2018 season.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-13, Wins-0, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-7.
