PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back to work in the Antaya Motorsports entry, Cory Eliason was pleased with the team’s performance as they finished 11th with the World of Outlaws on Saturday night in Stockton, CA.

“I definitely felt way better in our second weekend together, and we had a better car than what our finish shows,” Eliason explained. “Late in the race something in our steering went south and we lost some spots and fell out of the Top-10, but overall we were all pleased with our progress.”

Timing the Good Guys Rod and Custom Association/Fire Protection Management, Inc./TW Performance backed No. 20 machine in 14th fastest in the first flight of time trials, the Kingsburg, CA driver would line up in the fourth row of his heat race.

Putting together a very impressive run during his heat, Eliason would pick up a fourth place finish and safely move the Kaeding Performance/Cardinal Paint and Powder/Tool World backed entry into the night’s 30-lap  ‘A’ main.

Lining up in the eighth row for the feature, Eliason would flex his muscle early in the race as he surged forward and cracked the Top-10 within the first five laps. Showing good speed on a tricky Stockton Dirt Track, Eliason would soon find himself battling with Ian Madsen, and Daryn Pittman for track position.

With cautions plaguing the back half of the race, Eliason would slowly have trouble getting his car to turn and would begin losing positions on restart. Taking the checkered flag in the 11th spot eventually, the Antaya Motorsports team would identify a steering issue upon returning to the pit area.

“I have to thank Larry Antaya and everyone associated with this team for continuing to work hard,” Eliason said. “It is tough to take on the World of Outlaws, and to continue to gel with a new team and do it is even more stressful, but we are getting better and I think will lead to a successful year ahead.”

Antaya Motorsports would like to thank Good Guys Rod and Custom Association, Fire Protection Management, Inc., TW Performance, Kaeding Performance, Cardinal Paint and Powder, Tool World, Maas Brothers Powder Coating, and Shiro’s Collision Center for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Antaya Motorsports will take this weekend off before kicking off the 2017 King of the West schedule on April 8th at Kern Country Raceway Park in Bakersfield, CA.
