PETERSEN MEDIA: With very limited 410ci experience Justyn Cox and his Cox Motorsports team opted to take their newly acquired 410ci engine to Las Vegas, NV and take on ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt”.

“I had a blast shaking down our 410 at Las Vegas on the half mile,” Cox said. “I wish things could have gone a little better, but I was happy to get some seat time with the new combination.”

Wednesday night saw Cox time his Berco Berry Redwood Lumber/PM Truck Repair/LRB backed No. 31c machine in 31st quickest, putting him the fourth row of his heat race.

Needing to make some moves in his heat to earn a transfer into the feature event, Cox got the jump he needed as he was up into the fifth spot in the first corner, and was able to hold the position, and transfer into his first ever World of Outlaws feature event.

Lining up in the back of the pack, Cox would go a lap down, but continued make laps as he learned where he needed to better himself on the big track. After taking a rock off of his helmet shield, Cox opted to pull off and let the leaders race.

“It was pretty cool to make the feature the night out with my family teams car,” Cox said. “I learned some things, and ultimately pulled off after going a lap down.”

Thursday night things did not go so well, as mechanical gremlins hindered Cox and his team early in the night.

Finding himself deep in the B Main on Thursday night, Cox would gain a few positions as he would end his trip to ‘Vegas 11th in the LCS.

Trying to leave Sin City and get to Chico, CA for the Silver Cup, Cox’s transporter broke down, and his weekend of racing would come to an unscheduled close.

“We are still figuring out our ART chassis, and I would say we are still a work in progress,” Cox said. “My guys did such a great job all week, and I thank them for all of their hard work, and patience in getting home since our truck broke down.”

The Cox Racing team would like to thank Berco Berry Redwood Lumber, PM Truck Repair, LRB, JRI Shocks, Konnected, Sacramento Theatrical Lighting, College Cyclery, JRD Endeavors, VSR, ART, Axcel Race Suits, SafRacer.Com, K&N Performance, Justice Brothers, Cheetah IV Racing, E-ST Garage, Worton Designs, Manzer Motorsports,  and Tim’s Hot Rod Shop for their support in 2015!

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-3, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-1

ON TAP: Cox is hoping to be in action this Saturday night at the Marysville Raceway if his truck makes it home from Las Vegas, NV. If not he will be in action the following weekend at the Marysville Raceway for the Civil War Series opener.
