Crash Inside The Top-10 Ends Netto’s Hanford Run
PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking on the World of Outlaws in his hometown of Hanford, CA, DJ Netto got caught up in a wreck while running inside the Top-10, which ultimately ended his night.
“We had a pretty solid night going, but on a restart there was some contact, and we got some damage to our car, and our night was over,” DJ Netto said.
With 27 cars checked into the Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA on Friday night, Netto timed his Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Bogies Auto Parts backed No. 88n entry in 11th fastest during qualifications.
Starting on the front row of his heat race, Netto would lose the drag race to World of Outlaw regular, Brad Sweet, and end up in the second spot, where he went on to finish. By way of his finish, Netto would transfer directly to the night’s feature event where he lined up in the 12th spot.
On the very slick track, Netto got off to a nice start as he quickly worked his way up into the ninth spot before the caution flag waived on the fifth lap. The ensuing restart would spell disaster for the Hanford, CA driver, as contact with a competitor would cause suspension damage to his machine, and force him to retire for the rest of the night.
“I thought we had a pretty good restart, and as we got under another car, some contact ensued and the damage that we received ended our night,” he added. “It was a tough stint with the World of Outlaws while they were in California, but my team never gave up. We are excited to get our regular season out here going, and hopefully we can improve.”
