PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back to work for one final weekend of racing in 2019, Willie Croft would put together quite the weekend as he ran fourth in open competition on Friday night before picking up a 5thplace finish with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, and a 2ndplace finish with the King of the West Series on Saturday night at Stockton Dirt Track.

“It was a great weekend for our team, and a great way for us to close out our season,” Willie Croft said “It was a busy weekend and it kept us on our toes, but my guys did a great job and our results show.”

Friday night a hooked up and hauling racing surface saw Croft battle up front all race long. Battling with the likes of Mitchell Faccinto, Justyn Cox,  and Jason Solwold, Croft would cap the opener off with a fourth place finish.

Looking to better himself on Saturday night during the finale for both the SCCT and the KWS, Croft would continue to flex his muscles as he was the fast qualifier in 360 action and 4thquickest with the King of the West Series.

Lining up fourth in both heat races, Croft would pick up a couple of positions in his SCCT heat and finish second, as heat races would get strung out in 410 action as he finished fourth.

Safely in both series’ final feature events of the year, Croft would take the green flag from the front row alongside Rico Abreu with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.

On a track that was continuing to slick up, Croft would slip back to third when the race came to life as Ryan Robinson was able to get by him. Battling with the likes of Colby Copeland and then Shane Golobic, Croft would continue to run well as he remained in the Top-5.

As the action heated up, Croft would continue to stay strong in the slick as he held on to finish fifth as Ed Entz displayed the final SCCT checkered flag of the season.

Taking the green flag from the seventh starting position in KWS action, Croft would have his work cut out for himself with pre race track work making for a fast surface in the early goings of the feature event.

With passing tough for some, Croft would nail the start as he quickly jumped up into the fourth spot before dipping up DJ Netto to take over the third position.

Able to dispose of Craig Stidham and take over second, Croft would look to close in on Golobic who had built up quite a large gap over the field.

Unable to get to Golobic despite a couple of late restarts, Croft would keep his grasp on the second position as the weekend came to a close.

“Big thanks to all of the guys who work on these cars,” Willie Croft said. “We were fast all night, and it really made for a fun weekend. Great to come away with three Top-5’s.”
