Croft’s Bid For Three-In-A-Row at Petaluma Ends Violently

PETERSEN MEDIA- Looking to pick up his third consecutive win at the Petaluma Speedway with the King of the West Series on Saturday night, Willie Croft’s night would come to a violent end, as contact on the seventh lap would send his machine upside down.
“We were racing for position, and a car got out of shape on the front stretch, and trying to avoid him, I clipped him, and got upside down,” a disappointed Croft said.
Timing his Holey Smokes BBQ/ButlerBuilt/Brown and Miller No. 29 machine in 12th fastest during time trials, Croft would finish fifth in heat race action on a hooked up Petaluma Speedway.
Lining up in the sixth row for the feature event, Croft would get his machine going forward in the opening laps, as he was engaged in a battle with Carson Macedo, Bobby McMahan and Mitchell Faccinto.
With a car getting into the front stretch wall, in front of Croft’s battle, the Sacramento, CA driver tried to make a move to avoid him, but clipped him with his right rear tire, resulting in his machine flipping down the front stretch, ending his night.
“You hate to have night’s end like that, but fortunately safety gear is awesome these days, and I was able to escape uninjured,” Croft added. “I want to thank my guys, for their hard work, and hopefully we can take one out of Tulare on Saturday night.”
