PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing back aboard the Clyde and Marion Lamar No.3c on Sunday night with the King of the West Series and the Civil War Series, Willie Croft had a very strong night as he posted finishes of second and fourth place.

“With Jonathan Allard heading back to New Zealand already, I really cannot thank Clyde and Marion Lamar enough for letting me drive for them again,” Croft said. “I think overall we had a really good night, and I am looking forward to a few more races with the team.”

In 360 action with the Civil War Series, Croft timed the Tri-C Machine/ButlerBuilt/FK Rod Ends backed machine in eight fastest, before finishing third in his heat race.

Transferring into the feature event, the Roseville, CA driver lined up in the sixth row for the feature event, and was able to move forward on a very tricky track surface.

One of the bigger movers and shakers in the early goings of the main event, Croft worked into the top-five in just nine-laps as he battled with Herman Klein and Shane Golobic, until Golobic got upside down on the ninth lap.

Taking over the fourth spot, Croft would get by Klein on the restart to move into the third, but soon had company in the name of Tim Kaeding, who was charging up from the back of the pack.

Falling back to fourth, Croft would cross the stripe with a top-five, as he then hopped aboard the 410.

Timing in 17th fastest with the King of the West Series, Croft would then finish fifth in his heat to earn the transfer to the feature event, but would have his work cut out for him, as he lined up in the 17th spot for the 30-lap feature event.

With things getting a bit wild in the KWS feature, Croft was able to keep his nose clean, as he slowly worked his way through the field.

Late in the race Croft had worked his way into the top-five, and on a late green-white-checkered finish, Croft worked into the second spot, where he would go onto finish.

“This is a great team, and we all worked well together tonight, and had a really good night,” Croft said. “It was a pleasure to be back in this for sure, and I am excited to head to Arizona.”
