Dakota Albright 2nd In Lightning Sprint Action at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- With the Spencer Motorsports sprint car still out of commission, Dakota Albright put his Lighting Sprint back together after last weeks tumble and scored a second place finish at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.

“Saturday night went well for us with the Lightning Sprint, and I want to thank Dan Lind for quick turn around on my shocks after last week’s wreck,” Dakota Albright said.

Checking in at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for the first time with his BCRA Lightning Sprint, the Waterford, CA driver earned quick time honors abord this Thompson’s Family of Dealerships/Sacramento Battery backed No. 35Jr entry.

Taking the green flag for his heat race, Albright experienced electrical issues that hindered him and forced him to head back to his pit area and not finish his heat race.

With the DNF, Albright was back in the fourth row for the start of the feature event on the slick Placerville Speedway surface. Using the top side of the track to his advantage, Albright was into fourth on the first lap. Just as good as the top was to him, the next lap it wasn’t so kind as he got into the cushion and lost several spots as he slipped back to the 11thspot.

Back in 11th, Albright settled in as he continued to work around the ¼ mile bullring nestled in El Dorado County as he was back into sixth on the fourth lap, and inot the Top-3 at the race’s halfway point.

Running in third for the last half of the race, Albright was able to sneak into second coming to the checkered flag.

“I definitely made a pretty bad mistake on the second lap, and it cost me, but overall it was a great night,” Albright said. “Thanks to everyone who came out to support and helped get the car back together this week.”
