Dakota Albright Scores Another Runner Up Finish at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Heading to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night with his BCRA Lightning Sprint to take part in the Sala Family Classic, Dakota Albright had another good run at the famed quarter mile as he tallied a second place finish.

“We had a good car in the feature event, and I really was able to make the top work, and make a lot of speed,” Albright said. “Unfortunately I just ran out of time and settled for another runner up finish.”

Getting his night kicked off by timing the Thompson’s Family of Dealerships backed No. 35JR in second quickest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the third starting spot of his heat race, the Waterford, CA driver secured a third place finish which put him in the second row of the 20-lap feature event.

On the slick Placerville Speedway surface, Albright quickly jumped up to the Placerville Speedway cushion and hooked up in a very close knit battle with Matt Land and Greg Dennett. A spirited battle with the three allowed the race leader to break away as laps clicked down.

Able to clear Dennett and Land, Albright was extremely strong on the cushion as he began closing in on Josef Ferolito who was comfortably out front. Cutting into the gap that he had built up, the white flag flew and Albright’s time was running out.

Doing all he could on the last lap to catch Ferolito, Alrbight’s time simply ran out and he closed the night out with a runner up finish.

“Once I cleared Dennett and Land, I really needed a caution since Ferolito had a pretty good lead over us,” Albright said. “I did what I could, but I am happy to have speed and was happy to run second.”
