PETERSEN MEDIA: Week by week, Dakota Hendrickson and his Van Dyke Motorsports team continue to gain traction, and last week the team put together three strong night’s of racing as Hendrickson picked up three Top-10 finishes.
“Week after week we continue to get stronger as a team, and I am excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us,” Hendrickson noted.
Attacking the I-80 Speedway on Thursday night in Greenwood, NE, Hendrickson would record a third place finish in heat race action aboard his Lucas Oil/K&N Products/JRI Shocks No. 5h machine, and transfer into the feature event.
Lining up in the sixth row for the ‘A’, Hendrickson would fight all race long to stay afloat in the Top-10. Working into the ninth spot during a late green flag run, Hendrickson would take the checkered flag in ninth as the team then set their sights on the Bloomfield Speedway with the Sprint Invaders.
A tough heat race draw saw the Omaha, NE pilot line up in the fourth row of his heat race. With a strong Van Dyke Motorsports entry underneath him, Hendrickson would work his way forward to record a fifth place finish.
Gridding the field from the 13th starting position during the Sprint Invaders feature event, Hendrickson would continue to move forward just as he did in his heat race. Able to put his machine where he needed to in traffic, Hendrickson would advance seven positions on Friday night to finish in the sixth spot.
Returning to the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night, Hendrickson would time in 10th fastest before finishing fourth in his heat race.
Finding himself on the front row of the feature event, Hendrickson would settle into the second spot as he chased after early leader, Billy Alley. Continuing to hold the second spot for the first six laps, Hendrickson would fall to third on the seventh lap as Justin Henderson was able to get by him.
Battling with Ian Madsen and Clint Garner late in the race, Hendrickson would do what he could to keep pace with a four pack of former speedway champions as he was able to hold on to a fifth place finish.
“Harley and Carson have been amazing to work with, and I am looking forward to racing with them this week on fiver different occasions.
The Van Dyke Motorsports team would like to thank Lucas Oil, K&N Products, JRI Shocks, NAAKE Suspension, FSR Radiators, for their support during the year.
