Dale Miller Motorsports Scores First Win of Season With Justin Sanders at the Helm
PETERSEN MEDIA- Making his third start in the Dale Miler Motorsports No. 4SA entry on Saturday night, Justin Sanders made it count as he gave the team their first win of the season and capped of a personal weekend sweep as the win gave him 61 on his career.
“It was a great night for the Dale Miller Motorsports team,” Justin Sanders said. “Our first two nights together we had some speed, we just had some gelling to do, so to grab a win against a tough field in our third night out is pretty cool.”
Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Sanders would open his night up by timing the Thompson’s Auto/RedHawk Casino/Dale Miller Septic, Inc. backed No. 4SA in 10th quickest in time trials with 16 cars on hand.
Lining up in the third row of his heat race, Sanders would have his elbows up as he worked methodically around the racy ¼ mile. Able to race his way into a second place finish, the Watsonville, CA driver would move into the redraw where the one pill put him on the pole for the 25-lap feature event.
When the race came to life, Sanders would battle hard for the top spot before able to secure the position and start to create some breathing room for himself.
With Ryan Bernal and Andy Forsberg running in his wake, Sanders would continue to look extremely strong out front as he soon came up on the back of the pack. Still out front, the latter stages of the race would see Tony Gualda close in on the Dale Miller No. 4SA machine.
Though feeling a little pressure at the end of the race, Sanders stayed calm, cool, and collected as he took the checkered flag first and gave Dale Miller Motorsports their first win of the season.
“It is always fun to get back up to Placerville Speedway,” Sanders said. “Dale Miller and his team have top notch equipment and I have to thank them for this opportunity and working so hard with me the last three weeks. It is great to get them in victory lane.”
