DeCaires Fifth at Nor Cal Posse Shootout

PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking to Placerville Speedway for one final time this season with Dale Miller and the Dale Miller Motorsports team, Greg DeCaires and company would run well during the Inaugural Nor Cal Posse Shootout as he would finish eighth on Friday night and Fifth on Saturday night.
The two-day extravaganza kicked off Friday night with a total of 41 cars checking into the pit area. Going out late in time trials, DeCaires was able to still get a great qualifying time as he would time the Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/Thompson’s Auto Center/RedHawk Casino No. 4SA machine in 11th quickest.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Elk Grove, CA driver would have a good run that saw him acquire a ton of points as he would finish in the second position.
Playing the waiting game to see how everyone else’s points stacked up after preliminary action, DeCaires sat 12th meaning he would grid the field from the 12th starting position for the feature event.
On a slick and racy surface, DeCaires would continue to run well during the special event. Carving his way forward, DeCaires would close Friday night out with a ninth place finish, putting him eighth in points heading into Saturday’s finale.
With two heat races on tap Saturday night, DeCaires would finish second in his first heat that was lined up straight up off of event points. The second heat would be fully inverted and he would charge from the back to score a fourth place finish.
Moving into the Pole Shuffle based on his point total, DeCaires would pull the one pill in the redraw, which guaranteed him a starting position on the front row. Going one on one versus Cory Eliason, DeCaires would be defeated and thus would take the green flag from the outside front row.
When the race went green, it was DeCaires getting the jump and leading the way early. Running the low side of the speedway in both sets of turns, DeCaires would open up a nice lead until the caution flew on the sixth lap.
Back underway, DeCaires continued to lead the way but now he would feel pressure from second running Eliason. Falling back to second on the 11th lap, a lap 12 caution would bunch the field back up.
Racing hard with some of the brightest stars in CA, DeCaires would battle with the likes of Dominic Scelzi, Sean Becker, and DJ Netto as he continued to run in the Top-Five.
When the checkered flag flew on the event, DeCaries took the checkered flag with a hard fought fifth place finish.
Greg DeCaires and the Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic, Thompson’s Auto Center, RedHawk Casino, NAAKE Suspension, A.R.T.
