PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting right back to it at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Greg Decaires and the Dale Miller Motorsports team would continue to show consistency as they recorded another Top-Five finish at the famed ¼ mile bullring.
With 24 cars checked into the pit area, DeCaires would get off to a bit of a tough start as he would time the Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/Thompson’s Auto Center/RedHawk Casino backed No. 4SA machine in 18th fastest.
In a bit of a hole heading into heat races, DeCaires would grid the field from the third row on a track that was a little more hooked up and rough than usual for a mid July tilt.
Using his veteran savvy, DeCaires would work his way forward with precision as he was able to get up as high as the second spot as he would come just short of grabbing the win and earning a berth in the nightly redraw.
Despite his charge in the heat, DeCaires would find himself back in the 16th starting position for the 25-lap affair. With the track pretty tricky in the feature event, DeCaires was one of the few that was able to figure it out and work his way forward.
Tip-toeing around some rough patches aboard his NAAKE Suspension/A.R.T. Speed Equipment/King Racing Products backed machine, DeCaires was quickly up inside the Top-10.
Looking for more positions to garner valuable points as he chases after the track title, the Elk Grove, CA driver would get the Dale Miller Motorsports entry up to the fifth position when the race came to a close.
