PETERSEN MEDIA- Greg DeCaires kicked his 25th Anniversary season off on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway as he picked up a second place finish aboard the Dale Miller Motorsports No. 4SA machine.

With 21 360ci sprint cars checked in for the first of four Placerville Posse special events, DeCaires timed the Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/RedHawk Casino/Halk Equipment Rentals No. 4SA machine in third fastest.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the 2014 Placerville Speedway Champion, surged his way forward as he picked up the heat-race win, and made himself eligible for the redraw.

Finding himself with the six pill, DeCaires would line the Frank’s Auto Body Shop/Hangtown Sheet Metal/Wesmar powered entry up in the third row for the 25-lap Main Event.

As the action came to life, DeCaires moved into the fourth spot as he chased after third running Andy Gregg, before taking over the position on the seventh laps.

Moving into the top-three, DeCaires began relentlessly pressuring second running, Steven Tiner, and the top three raced hard with heavy traffic mixed in the fray.

Following a pair of stoppages for accident’s, DeCaires was able to move the Foothill 7 TV/A.R.T./NAKKE backed No. 4SA machine into the second spot, as he thrilled the crowd in his pursuit of the race leader, Colby Wiesz.

In the closing stages of the race, DeCaires would get alongside Wiesz for the top spot, and looked to take the lead, and steal the win, but Wiesz would answer his challenge, and DeCaires would end his season opener with a second place finish.

Greg DeCaires and the Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic, Foothill 7 TV, RedHawk Casino, Halk Equipment Rentals, NAAKE Suspension, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Frank’s Auto Body Shop, Hangtown Sheet Metal and Wesmar Racing Engines for their support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 1, Wins- 0, Top-5’s-1, Top-10’s-1
