DeCaires Storms To Fourth At Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Greg DeCaries and his Dale Miller Motorsports team put together another strong showing at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night that saw the Elk Grove, CA driver charge from his 10th starting position to earn a fourth place finish.
“We had some bad luck in our heat race that forced us into the B Main, but we took care of business there and were pretty good in the feature,” DeCaires said.
A total of 24 winged 360ci sprint cars checked into the pit area on Saturday night and DeCaires would time the Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/Thompson’s Auto Center/RedHawk Casino backed No. 4SA entry in fifth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, DeCaires would get collected with another driver in turns three and four, which resulted in him going to the back of the pack. Working his way up to the fifth spot, DeCaires would be forced to the B Main, but picking up the win he would safely transfer into the 25-lap A Main event.
Griding the field behind the redraw cars, DeCaires would take the green flag from the 10th starting position as he quickly dropped to the bottom of the speedway and went to work.
Clawing his way toward the Top-Five, DeCaires would be a benefactor or a wreck that broke out just in front of him at the race’s halfway point. Now in the fourth spot, DeCaires would chase after Jonathan Allard who ran in third over the final laps of the race.
Unable to get one spot better, DeCaires strong charge would end with a fourth place finish.
“To come from the B, and start in the fifth row is tough here and on Saturday it was a really strong field of cars,” DeCaries said. “It was good to come out with a Top-Five, and I have to thank my race team for all of their hard work.”
Greg DeCaires and the Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic, Thompson’s Auto Center, RedHawk Casino, NAAKE Suspension, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Gary Morgan Graphics, Joe Hunt Magnetos, Smith Precision Products, MotoWear, Frank’s Auto Body Shop, and Wesmar Racing Engines for their support.
