DJ Netto 14th at Tarter Memorial After Late Race Contact

PETERSEN MEDIA: Graduating high school earlier in the week, DJ Netto celebrated by climbing aboard his DJ Netto Racing No. 88n machine on Saturday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway with the King of the West Series.

“We actually had a pretty good night, but the last restart saw contact get us off the track so our result really is not indicative of how we ran,” Netto said.

After timing the Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Bogies Auto Parts No. 88n machine in seventh fastest in qualifying time trials, the Hanford, CA product would pick up a third place finish in heat race action.

On a picture perfect racing surface that was slick to a curb, Netto would line up in the sixth row for the 35-lap feature event. As the race would get into a groove following a couple of early stoppages, Netto would take a liking to the cushion as he worked his way forward.

Getting inside the Top-10, Netto would race his way up into the seventh spot in the race’s closing stages just before the caution flag flew. The ensuing restart saw contact send Netto’s machine off of the racing surface and he would be forced to the back of the pack.

In the final few laps, Netto would pick up a few positions as he finished in the 14th spot.

“Silver Dollar Speedway is a track that I have struggled out over the last couple of seasons, so overall I was happy with how we ran,” Netto said. “I am really looking forward to getting back to Hanford on Friday night and Stockton on Saturday night.”
