PETERSEN MEDIA- DJ Netto got the call to pilot the C&M Motorsports entry with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Saturday night as the series made its first ever visit to Merced Speedway. Making the most of his opportunity, Netto would bring the No. 7c machine home with a fourth place finish.

“I had an absolute blast driving for Cody and Mandi on Saturday night, and really want to thank them for having me drive their car,” Netto said. “We had a really good car, unfortunately the yellow flags didn’t do us any favors.”

Timing in third fastest in his qualifying group on Saturday night, Netto would capitalize on the prime heat race starting position as he would pick up the win aboard the Moorefield Construction/PT Shocks/Swartz Diesel/Alturas Tires backed machine.

Qualifying for the Dash, Netto would finish fifth, putting him in the third row to start the 35-lap feature event. Making a nice move on the start of the race, Netto would jump into second where he would pressure Jodie Robinson for the lead.

Passing Robinson for the top spot on two occasions yellow flags would fly and would negate both of his advances. On the slick surface, Netto would continue to run strong up front as he kept Robinson in his crosshairs.

Falling back to third just before the halfway point, the rubber would start to go down after a fuel stop. Doing what he could in the rubber, Netto would slip back to fourth as Kyle Hirst got by him after a torrid battle where he would ultimately go on to finish.

“I personally struggle in the rubber, and once it went down I made some mistakes that cost us a podium,” Netto said. “Cody and Mark really gave me a good car, and we were really strong. Again, thankful to Cody and Mandi, and had a lot of fun working with them all.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Moorefield Construction, Inc., PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
