PETERSEN MEDIA: Friday and Saturday night in Placerville, CA, DJ Netto took part in the inaugural running of the Nor-Cal Posse Shootout at Placerville Speedway and put together a really nice weekend that saw him record third and fourth place finishes.

“We had a really good racecar all weekend long, and it was good to get off to a good start on Friday night and lock us into Saturday’s feature event,” DJ Netto said.

With 41 cars in the pit area on Friday night, Netto would get the weekend started on a really good note as he timed the Tri-C Manufacturing/Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain machine in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials.

Moving into his heat race, Netto would work his way forward from his second row starting position and pick up valuable points as a second place finish would lock him into the Top-Eight pole shuffle.

Getting the best of Sean Becker in his first battle, Netto would then come up short in a match race with Cory Eliason and would line up fifth for the 30-lap feature event. Running in fourth for much of the ‘A’, Netto would hook up in some tight knit racing that saw a gaggle of cars fighting for the fourth and final lock in position to Saturday night’s event.

Able to stay within the Top-Four, Netto would use a late restart to move into third where he would go on to finish.

Locking directly into Saturday night’s shuffle and feature event, Cory Eliason would again defeat Netto but this time it would put him in the third starting position for the 40-lap feature event.

On a very slick racing surface, Netto ran in the third spot as the race came to life. After a couple of early cautions, an extended green-flag run would see Netto close in on the lead duo of Greg DeCaires and Eliason.

On the 29th lap, Netto would actually get by both drivers and lead until Eliason snuck back by him on the 32nd circuit. A late restart would shuffle Netto back to third, and as the checkered flag came out he lost a drag race to the finish line and ended up fourth.

“The last restart shuffled us a back a little, but overall it was a great weekend and I have to thank the guys, as well as Clyde and Marion Lamar for everything,” DJ Netto noted.
