DJ Netto Second with KWS at Antioch Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Making his second start of the season at Antioch Speedway in Antioch, CA, DJ Netto would have a nice showing as he would finish in the second position with the King of the West Series.
“I had a really good car all night long, and we ended up finishing second,” DJ Netto explained. “We led the first couple laps early, but Gio Scelzi made the top work and got by us and then the track started taking rubber.”
Getting his night kicked off by timing the Tri-C Manufacturing/Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain backed No. 3c sprinter in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials, the Hanford, CA driver would take care of business in his heat race as he would pick up the win and move into the Dash.
Lining up fourth in the Dash, Netto would take advantage of a tangle involving the outside front row starter on the initial start and would move up a row to take the green. Chasing after Kyle Hirst, Netto would finish in the second spot, which put him on the front row for the 30-lap feature event.
Taking the green flag alongside Hirst, Netto would get the jump on the extremely slick Antioch Speedway surface. Rolling the bottom grove the first two laps, the yellow would fly and bunch the field back up.
The ensuing restart would see Netto continue to run the bottom groove like much of the field, except for second running Gio Scelzi. Falling back to the second spot as Scelzi was able to make the move stick, Netto would give chase as rubber would soon begin going down on the speedway.
Getting close to the leader in traffic a couple of times, Netto wouldn’t be able to get up and challenge for the win as he finished second.
“I have to thank Lee Lindgren and my guys for working hard and giving me a good car tonight,” Netto said. “We gave it a good effort on Saturday, we just got beat.”
