Dominic Scelzi Podiums Again With Roth Motorsports
PETERSEN MEDIA- Making the decision to stop in at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA on Saturday night to take part in the Kings of Thunder event, Dominic Scelzi and crew continued their strong 2019 season as the Fresno, CA driver pocketed a third place finish.
“It was another good night for us, but our benchmark is wins,” Dominic Scelzi said. “Don’t get me wrong, it is great to podium, but we will never be fully satisfied unless we are holding the trophy at the end of the night.”
Scelzi would get his night off to a good start as he timed the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transpiration/Jason, Tara, and Cole Roth Cattle Co. No. 83JR machine in sixth quickest in time trials.
Moving into heat race competition, Scelzi would run second to Bud Kaeding, which would line him up seventh in the feature event as he just narrowly missed the Dash.
From his fourth row starting position, Scelzi would go to work searching around the 1/3 mile oval as he just could not get going on the high, scary side of the speedway.
Working his way through the field, Scelzi would get going on the bottom as he would get up into the third position as he chased after Mitchell Faccinto and Bud Kaeding.
Not really able to do anything with the lead duo from while working the low groove, Scelzi would focus on hitting his marks as he accepted the checkered flag with his fourth podium finish of the season with Roth Motorsports.
“We have a great car, but man I want to win in this thing so bad,” Scelzi added. “Big thanks to Dennis and Teresa Roth and everyone at Roth Motorpsorts for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. Looking forward to two 410ci races this weekend.”
