PETERSEN MEDIA- Handling the pressure of running for the iconic Roth Motorpsorts team well so far in 2019, Dominic Scelzi stayed hot aboard the No. 83jr machine as he picked up another podium finish on Saturday night in Hanford, CA by way of his second place run.
“It was another good night for the Roth Motorsports team,” Dominic Scelzi said. “To start out our first three races together like we have is pretty cool, and hopefully we can keep it up all year long.”
Checking in at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA on Saturday night, Scelzi would go out late for time trials and with the track slowing down he would still time the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/Jason, Tara, and Cole Roth Cattle Co. entry in 10th quickest amongst the 26 cars signed into the pit area.
Getting off to a great start in his heat race, the Fresno, CA driver would simply dominate the competition as he raced to a convincing win and made his way into the Dash. Finishing third in the Dash, Scelzi would take the green flag from the second row for the 30-lap feature event.
Feeling good about his car heading into the feature event, Scelzi would find himself in the second position for much of the race as he chased after race leader, DJ Netto. Continuing to hound Netto, things would change with just a handful of laps to go in the race as a restart would put Scelzi right behind new leader, Carson Macedo.
Challenging Macedo during the race’s closing laps, Scelzi just could not get anything to stick as he gave it his all. With the checkered flag in the air, Scelzi would cap a strong night with a second place finish.
“Big thanks to Dennis and Teresa Roth for giving me such a cool opportunity this year,” Scelzi added. “Thanks to all the guys for working hard and giving me a strong car.”
The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Jason, Tara, And Cole Roth Cattle Co., Roth Investments, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Smith Titanium for their support in 2019.
