Early End To Robbie Price’s Weekend
PETERSEN MEDIA- Traveling to Chico, CA over the weekend to compete in the Fall Nationals, Robbie Price was scheduled to run in both nights of the event, but a preliminary race wreck on Friday night would doom the remainder of his weekend.
“I put my team in a bad spot with a lackluster effort in qualifying and our heat race, and it came back to haunt us,” Price said.
With 54 cars on hand for the Friday night program at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Price would time in 20th fastest during his qualifying flight, and have his work cut out for him in his heat race.
Lining the Raylle Auto Sales/Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing No. 21p entry up 10th in his heat race, Price would gain a position as the race went on and finished in the ninth spot.
By way of his heat finish, the Cobble Hill, BC driver would find himself mired in the C main event, but looked to have a good shot at moving into the B Main event. Unfortunately for Price, a fellow competitor would lose the handle on his machine in front of Price during the warm up lap, and making contact as he tried to avoid him, Price would get airborne and upside-down, and his machine would be done for the weekend.
“It was a pretty disappointing way to end our weekend,” Price added. “If I would have driven a little more aggressive earlier in the night, we would not have been in that position. Now we will see what we can get put back together and hopefully make it down for the Trophy Cup.”
