Eventful Night Sees Justin Sanders Battle to 7th Place Finish at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to racing action at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Justin Sanders would take part in a very eventful night that culminated with him eventually coming from the back of the pack to pocket a seventh place finish with Dale Miller Motorsports.
“It was a wild one,’ Justin Sanders said. “From a heat race incident, to an incident in the feature, we just couldn’t catch a break. Luckily, Dale and the guys worked hard and we had a good car that allowed us to rebound.”
Timing the Miller Motorsports No. 4SA machine in second fastest in qualifying time trials, heat race action would see contact get the Thompson’s Buick-GMC/Thompson’s Jeep-Ram/Dale Miller Septic, Inc. machine out of shape and off the racing surface.
With the caution not coming out, Sanders would finish fifth, but with only four cars transferring he would be forced into the 12-lap semi.
Running second in the ‘B’ to Tanner Carrick, Sanders would get his qualifying time back in the feature event, and would line up behind the eight redraw cars as he pushed off from the ninth starting position.
Sitting in seventh position on a lap four caution, the restart would prove detrimental to the Aromas, CA driver as he would find himself tangled in turns one and two and forced to the tail end of the field.
Going back to 18th, Sanders would get going on the slick surface, as he would patiently work his way up to 10th by the 15th lap. Getting as high as ninth, Sanders would get caught in no mans land as he slipped all the way back to 14th on the race’s 16th circuit.
Getting back up to 11th on a late restart, Sanders would use the final restart to improve even more as he jumped into seventh on the white flag lap, where he would go on to finish.
“Big thanks to Dale and his team for their hard work,” Sanders said. “It was a frustrating night, but we will build from it, and get stronger.”
The Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Thompson’s Buick-GMC, Thompson’s Jeep-Ram, Dale Miller Septic, Inc., North County Plastering, Anrak Corporation, Yuba-Sutter Aviation, Frank’s Body Shop, Wion’s Powder Coating, Walker Performance Filtration, Factory Kahne Shocks, Smith Titanium, FK Rod Ends, Triple X Race Co., King Racing Products, A.R.T.
