PETERSEN MEDIA- Back in action on Saturday night at Marysville Raceway, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing charged for their 10th starting position and came away with a sixth place finish.
“The track was pretty tricky being rough and tumble on the bottom and the bottom being smooth and tacky, but I just couldn’t figure either out,” Andy Forsberg said.
“With 32 cars checked in at Marysville Raceway for the track’s first points event of the season, Forsberg would time the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/Huggins Cams backed No. x1 entry in eighth quickest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Auburn, CA driver would pick up a position as his third place finish transferred him directly into the 25-lap feature event.
Continuing to fine tune and make adjustments with the track staying hooked up and fast, Forsberg would find himself in the 10th starting position as he looked to rebound from a late race flip just one week prior.
Biding his time, the veteran standout would slowly work through traffic as he advanced position on the ¼ mile bullring. As the laps clicked off, Forsberg approached the Top-Five as he started to battle with the likes of Jodie Robinson, JJ Hickle, and Geoff Ensign.
Unable to snatch position in the Top-Five, Forsberg would close his night out with a charge to sixth from his 10thstarting position.
“Thanks to the F&F Racing guys for their continued hard work, and coming out and racing again,” Forsberg said. “It has been a unique couple of weeks, but feels good to get back on the track.”
