Faccinto Scores Stockton Top-5 With King of the West-NARC

PETERSEN MEDIA- Having a ton of confidence heading into the King of the West/NARC visit to Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday night with his previous success at the track over the years, Mitchell Faccinto had a strong run on a tricky track as he picked up a fifth-place finish.

“We timed in well, and ran well in the Dash, but the feature got tricky as the track was really narrow and there wasn’t much opportunity to pass,” Mitchell Faccinto said. “Drew and the guys worked hard all night long, and it was a good result for our Tarlton and Son Inc. team.”

Kicking the night off by timing the Tarlton and Son Inc./EZ Haul/Executive Auto Sales No. 21 in third fastest in qualifying time trials, Faccinto would line up in the second row of his heat race.

On the slick Stockton Dirt Track surface, Faccinto continued to showcase speed in the famed black No. 21 entry as he worked his way up to a second-place finish in his heat race.

With points tabulated during qualifying and heat race competition, the Hanford, CA driver was solidly in the Sunnyvalley Bacon Fast Dash where the six lined him up in the third row.

Getting a good start in the six-lap shootout, Faccinto improved his feature event starting position by one row as he raced to a fourth-place finish. Watching the support series closely to see what the track did for the feature, Faccinto and company made a couple of adjustments before shoving out for the 25-lap feature event.

As the race came to life, the racing surface was extremely narrow and passing would prove to be tough during the fast-paced event. With track conditions also leading to single file restarts, Faccinto did what he could to keep the Tarlton Motorsports entry locked inside the Top-Five.

With the 25-lap feature event going fast, Faccinto closed his night out with a fifth-place finish, as the King of the West Series heads into its traditional summer break to allow teams the opportunity to head to the Midwest.

“It was a little bit of a bummer passing was to tough in the feature, because we went forward all night,” Faccinto added. “Good finish as we head into a little bit of a break and hopefully, we can build off it when we pick back up with the KWS/NARC series. As always, a huge thanks to the Tarlton family for their continued support as they give us some great equipment.”

BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 28, Wins: 1, Top 5’s: 7, Top 10’s: 16.

ON TAP: Mitchell Faccinto will be idle this weekend and will tentatively be in action at Ocean Speedway on August 5th.
