Forsberg 12th at Cotton Classic with F&F Racing

PETERSEN MEDIA- Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing would make the trip to Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA on Saturday night to take part in the 33rd Annual Cotton Classic with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on the card. Having an up and down night, Forsberg would close the night out with a 12th place finish.
“We kind of fought the same issues we fought last week in Petaluma and it made for a bit of a long night,” Andy Forsberg said. “We had some early luck that put us in a good position, but we were off in the feature and just kind of hung on.”
Timing the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStop USA backed No. x1 machine in second fastest in his time trial group, Forsberg would line up in the second row of his heat race on a locked down Keller Auto Speedway surface.
Working his way up to finish second, Forsberg would be the fastest qualifier in his heat to make the transfer and that would move him into the all-important Dash where he would start sixth and finish fifth.
By way of his fifth place finish, Forsberg would grid the field from the third row for the 30-lap feature event. With the track still hooked up, it would prove to be a little more racy than it was early in the night, but Forsberg and company seemed to struggle on the sticky surface.
Losing a couple spots initially when the race came to life, Forsberg would try a multitude of lines in hopes something would be to the like of his F&F Racing machine.
Falling out of the Top-10, Forsberg would actually start to lose air in his right rear as the waning laps clicked off and he continued to run in 12th. When the race came to a close, Forsberg would hang on to a 12th place finish despite having a flat right rear tire.
“It is kind of puzzling to us all since we really haven’t struggled when it is heavy like we have the last two races,” Forsberg added. “Fortunately we had some luck on our side early in the night to start up front, so hopefully the guys can pinpoint the issue and they can have a great Trophy Cup with Parker Price-Miller.”
F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2018.
ON TAP: F&F Racing is now set for the 25th Annual Trophy Cup where Parker Price-Miller will take over the driving duties for the weekend.
2018 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-31, Wins-7, Top 5’s-15, Top 10’s-23.
