Forsberg 4th at Mother’s Day Madness

PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night after two weeks away for Sprint Car Challenge Tour events, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing tallied a fourth-place finish in a night dubbed as Mother’s Day Madness.
“After the last points race at Placerville Speedway we knew we had some work to do,” Forsberg said. “We changed some things that seemed to help at Petaluma and up in Chico last week, and we were able to time in well and make the redraw on Saturday, so things are definitely trending in the right direction for the F&F team.”
Saturday night saw 29 cars check into the pit area for the night of racing and Forsberg would time the C&H Motor parts/Bushey Financial Services/PitStopUSA backed entry in sixth quickest in qualifications.
On a very slick surface in heat race competition, Forsberg would start and finish in the third position. Moving into the feature, luck would be on his side as he also qualified for the redraw.
After a string of tough draws, Jimmy Wall returned to form for the team as he would pull the three pill and put the Auburn, CA driver in the second row for the 25-lap feature event.
Following a track re work, Forsberg would jump into second when the action went green. As laps clicked off the track would get back to its slick form as the leaders reached the back of the field.
In traffic, Forsberg would try and track down Golobic, but on this night Golobic was able to keep several lapped cars between in himself and the Auburn, CA pilot.
Getting passed by Willie Croft just after the race’s halfway point, Forsberg would now find himself in third as he continued to take part in what ended up being a 19-lap green flag run.
Following a lap 19 stoppage, Forsberg would continue to run in third until the yellow was again needed on the 21stlap.
The lap 21 restart would see Forsberg slip back to fourth via a surging Justin Sanders, and that is where he would go on to finish on this night.
“We are still lacking a little speed, but like I said it was good to have the speed to time in well and put ourselves in a starting position up front again at Placerville,” Andy Forsberg noted. “We have a busy week ahead, and I am hoping we can continue to find more and more speed and put together two strong runs.”
F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank C&H Motor Parts, Bushey Financial Services, PitStopUSA, Geico Local Office, Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, CRV Carbon Solutions, All Pro Heads, and Engler for their support in 2021.
