PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing back aboard the F&F Racing No. x1 machine after Paul McMahan handled the driving duties at Trophy Cup, Andy Forsberg closed out the season for the team in Stockton, CA by picking up an 11thplace finish with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.
“We had a really good car all night long, and I just complete whiffed on a restart and we slipped back to finish 11th,” Andy Forsberg said. “The car and the team were really good, I was not.”
Timing the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine in third fastest in his qualifying group, the Auburn, CA driver would finish third in his heat race as he chased Colby Copeland and Carson Macedo across the stripe.
By way of his third place finish, Forsberg would transfer directly into the 30-lap feature event where he would roll off the starting grid from the 13thstarting position.
From the seventh row, Forsberg would make some swift moves around the Stockton Dirt Track as he quickly jumped into the Top-10 and continued to look for more. Abel to fight his way forward up to sixth, a restart would not go well for Forsberg.
When the race came back to life, Forsberg would miss his line getting into three, and it would result in him losing a handful of positions. Falling out of the Top-10, Forsberg would slip all the way back to 11th.
With not much time to make up his lost ground, the Auburn, CA driver would cap his night with an 11thplace finish as he closed out F&F Racing’s 2019 season.
“It wasn’t quite how we had hoped to end our season, but looking back it was really a great year,” Forsberg said. “Winning another championship, and quite a few races, I’d say it was a fun year, and thanks to all of these guys for all of their hard work.”
