Forsberg Fights For Eighth at Fall Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA- Andy Forsberg and his F&F Racing team picked up an eighth place finish during the Fall Nationals that took place at the Silver Dollar Speedway over the weekend.

“We were pretty good on Saturday night, but I made a mistake on a restart, and gave up a ton of positions,” he said. “But we had a good enough car that I was able to pick some spots up and end up with an eighth place finish.”

Forsberg kicked the Fall Nationals finale off by timing the Lucas Oil/Pit Stop USA/HRP backed No. x1 machine in 15th fastest, before picking up a heat race win.

On the slicked off surface with a tricky cushion, ‘Mr. Excitement’ was able to charge to fourth from his seventh starting spot in the dash, to earn a second row starting spot for the 40-lap feature event.

Running in the fourth spot during he early goings of the feature event, Forsberg got up over the tricky cushion on a restart, and lost several positions, as he now looked to work his way back forward.

With the cushion being extremely tricky, and ultimately biting Forsberg, he opted to go to the bottom of the speedway, as he slowly began picking up positions.

Falling back to the 10th spot, by the half way point, Forsberg was able to make a couple of late moves to by Koen Shaw and Andy Gregg to score an eighth place finish in what was the final event at the Silver Dollar Speedway for the 2014 season.

“We were good early, but the driver made a mistake on the ragged cushion,” he said. “The track was tough, and you couldn’t afford to give up spots like that, but I was able to get to the bottom and salvage our night.”

During Friday night’s opener, Forsberg would score an 18th place finish.

F&F Racing would like to thank Lucas Oil, Pit Stop USA, HRP, CRV, Inventory Sales, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Wilwood, Kaizer Wheels, K&N, Roseville Precision, Autism Speaks, FK Rod Ends, and PT Shocks for their support in 2014.
