Forsberg Flirts with Marysville Win

PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to racing for the first time since early March, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing looked be back to their winning ways on Saturday in Marysville, CA until a late race incident saw Forsberg get upside down while workout through lapped traffic.

“It was great to get back to racing and have a little normalcy amidst all of this,” Forsberg said. “Unfortunately, our night ended with me getting upside down while leading with three-to-go, but we had a really good car.”

With 28 cars in the Marysville Raceway pit area, Andy Forsberg would time the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/Huggins Cams backed No. x1 machine in second quickest in qualifying time trials.

Moving into heat race competition, the Auburn, CA driver would simply just need to transfer into the feature event to earn a spot in the redraw, and he would do just that. Finishing third, ‘Mr. Excitement’ would find himself with the highly sought after ‘one’ pill, which placed the Lucas Oil/Pacific Highway Rentals/Autism Awareness entry on the pole for the 25-lap feature.

Starting alongside Geoff Ensign, Forsberg would get the jump on his rival as he began to set a torrid pace.

Looking strong out front, Forsberg would find himself in lapped traffic soon but would continue to keep the field at bay. As the laps continued to click off, Forsberg looked to be well on his way to his second feature event win of the young season.

On the race’s 22nd lap, things would take a turn for the worse. Racing in traffic, Forsberg would take a misstep entering turn one, and it would result in his machine getting out of shape and getting upside down. Able to walk away from the wreck unscathed, Forsberg’s night was over as he was credited with an 11th place finish.

“Not the way we wanted our night to end,” Forsberg said. “Thanks to F&F and all of the guys for getting the car out to the track and putting us in a really good positition all night.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank C&H Motor Parts, Bushey Financial Services, Huggins Cams, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, CRV Carbon Solutions, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, All Pro Heads, and Engler for their support in 2020.
