PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night to do battle with the Civil War Series, Andy Forsberg would tip-toe around an extremely slick surface to finish in the fourth spot.
“The slick tracks really aren’t my cup of tea, but Cody and the guys gave me a good car, and we tried to make something happen,” Andy Forsberg said.
With 32 cars on hand Saturday night, Forsberg would time the PT Shocks/PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness backed No. 7c machine in fifth fastest, which lined him up in the second row of the night’s first heat race.
Hanging on to the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat, the Auburn, CA pilot would move the C&M Motorsports machine into the Dash, where the three pill would line him up in the second row of the sixth lap event.
With the track continuing to slick off and slowdown, Forsberg would finish in the third spot, putting him in the second row for the 30-lap ‘A’ Main event. Falling back to the fifth spot early in the race, Forsberg would spend much of his night battling with Mason Moore and Colby Copeland as the trio jockeyed for position.
Using the low part of the speedway in turns one and two, and riding the cushion in turns three and four, Forsberg would hold strong as the racing would become tight knit in lapped traffic.
Getting into the fourth spot, Forsberg would fend off challenges from Kyle Hirst and Jonathan Allard late in the race to hold the position at the finish line, as he continues to lead the series point chase heading into this weekend’s event in Petaluma, CA.
“The track was pretty tricky all night long, but we were able to take care of business and get in the Dash, and run in the Top-Five,” Forsberg said. “We will look to get back in victory lane this week back in Petaluma.”
The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
