PETERSEN MEDIA: Finally putting a couple of frustrating nights with his 410ci engine behind him, Andy Forsberg at the Pacific Highway Rentals team had good showing with the NARC/KWS Series on Saturday night in Petaluma, CA that saw Forsberg pick up a fourth-place finish.
“We have had a couple of nights just fighting our 410ci, and finally we had a night where we didn’t have any issues to chase and I was happy with how it ran,” Forsberg said. “It was a bit of a light car count, and it was definitely a track where you wanted traffic, but that just wasn’t in the cards.”
Timing the Meridian Cameras/Pacific Highway Rentals/Wilkie Masonry backed No. 92 in second fastest in qualifying time trials, Forsberg went on to pick up a second-place finish in heat race competition.
Moving into the Dash, the inversion placed Forsberg in the third row of the six-lap shootout and the ultra-fast surface made it tough to gain any ground to improve his feature event starting position.
Finishing fifth, the Auburn, CA driver was set to take the green flag for the 30-lap feature from the inside of the third row. With the track still staying extremely fast, Forsberg made a couple of big moves to pick a couple of positions amidst a fast and furious 25-lap green flag run.
Getting into fourth, Forsberg would make an attempt to get on the podium during the final five lap shootout of the night, but a narrow surface, and a tough group occupying the top three made it too tough and Forsberg capped his night off with a fourth place finish.
“It was good to see a good crowd on hand, and before the race Rick Faeth announced the track would be getting some reshaping work done to it in the coming days, so I am excited to see what those changes entail.”
Andy Forsberg and PHR Racing would like to thank Meridian Cameras, Pacific Highway Rentals, Wilkie Masonry, PitStopUSA, Red Line Oil, Autism Awareness, Parking and Transportation Group, Western Featherlite, GP Development, 1st Vanguard, Highway Specialty Co., and KBJ Catering for their continued support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Races-10, Wins-1, Top 5’s-4, Top 10’s-5
ON TAP: Forsberg will be in action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Saturday night in Marysville, CA and then will head to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA on Sunday night for an unsanctioned 410ci race taking place during the Silver Dollar fair.
