PETERSEN MEDIA- An old school, rough, and heavy surface at the Petaluma Speedway greeted Andy Forbserg and his team on Saturday night, and after being involved in an incident in traffic while battling for the lead, the Auburn, CA pilot put on a show as he battled back to finish fourth.

“It was a wild night of racing, and I think we had a car that was good enough to win the race,” Forsberg said. “We had some funky luck in traffic, but the guys got me back out and we came through the field pretty quick.”

Timing the PT Shocks/PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness backed No. 7c machine in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials, ‘Mr. Excitement’ would race his way to a second place finish during his eight lap heat race.

With the track staying heavy and rough on this night, Forsberg would be licking his chops as cars pushed on the speedway for the feature event. Lining up in the third row for the scheduled 25-lap affair, Forsberg would stand on the loud pedal as he picked off a handful of cars in the race’s first few laps.

With the track playing to his favor, Forsberg would find himself battling with Riley Matson for the race lead, as Bradley Terrell too was working his way forward.

On the race’s 13th lap, Forsberg would become a victim of circumstance as a lapped car would spin in front of him and come down the track into his path and collect him.

With front wing damage, Forsberg would make a trip to the work area, where he would restart at the tail of the field. Continuing to show speed, Forsberg would weave through traffic as he got back into the Top-Five as the race began to wind down.

In the fourth spot, the red flag would fly on the 18th lap, and at this time officials would call the race short due to the time of the event, and the severity of the accident that took place.

“It was a strange main event that saw a lot of torn up parts,” Forsberg said. “I am glad that tangle we got in didn’t tear up too much for us, and we were able to continue on. Thanks to my guys for their hard work.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: The C&M Motorsports team will head to the Ocean Speedway on Friday night as the Civil War Series returns to action for the Howard Kaeding Classic.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-19, Wins-7, Top 5’s-16, Top 10’s-17.
