Forsberg Romps to Second Place Finish in Hard Charger Effort at Petaluma Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- 2021 has been quite an uphill battle thus far for Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing. Continuing to search for issues that hindered their start to the season, their hard work paid off as things came together on Saturday night and Forsberg was able to charge from 14th to finish second with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.

“I really have to thank the F&F Racing guys for all of their hard work and determination during the first two months of the season,” Andy Forsberg said. “We had been chasing something with our engine program, and this week they changed some stuff around and I think we are finally back where we need to be.”

Checking in at Petaluma Speedway with the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour pres. By Abreu Vineyards, Forsberg would time the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/PitStopUSA backed sprinter in fourth fastest in his qualifying group.

Finishing third in his heat race, the Auburn, CA driver would move into the 35-lap feature event where he would take the green flag from the 14th starting position. On a very hooked up Petaluma Speedway, Forsberg would flex his muscles on the famed ‘Gumbo’ as he began to work his way forward at the drop of the green flag.

Cracking the Top-10 by the seventh lap, Forsberg would use a double file restart on lap nine to jump up into seventh.

Continuing to forge his way through the field, Forsberg would make a move on another restart and find himself in fifth, and looking for more. Taking over the third position at the race’s halfway point, Forsberg would find himself battling the likes of Ryan Bernal and Justyn Cox as they all chased after Shane Golobic who had built up a sizeable lead.

Taking over the second position amidst traffic on the 27th lap, Forsberg would hold the spot as he would earn PitStopUSA Hard Charger Honors.

“Going from 14th to 2nd at Petaluma is pretty good when it is heavy and sticky like that,” Forsberg said. “I didn’t do us any favors in time trials, but these guys continued to work hard, and we are all pretty happy with how the night ended up playing out.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank C&H Motor Parts, Bushey Financial Services, PitStopUSA, Geico Local Office, Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, CRV Carbon Solutions, All Pro Heads, and Engler for their support in 2021.

ON TAP: F&F Racing is slated to return to action with the SCCT on Saturday night as the series makes its debut at Silver Dollar Speedway during the Spring Nationals David Tarter Memorial.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-9, Wins-1, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-7.
