PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking advantage of a Sunday night race in Chico, CA on over the weekend with the Civil War Series, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing would simply have a tough night of action.

“Something is off right now, and we are struggling to put it bluntly,’ Andy Forsberg said. “We have tried and tried to get this thing to our liking but Sunday was pretty frustrating for everyone.”

With 41 cars on hand for the annual Silver Dollar Fair race, Forsberg would just narrowly miss the heat race inversion as he timed the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed entry in 17th quickest in time trials.

Seemingly catching a break in his heat race with the second row starter unable to make the call, Forsberg would move up a row and take the green flag from the third starting position.

Battling with Tanner Carrick for the final transfer position in the heat, Forsberg would end up fifth and in the ‘B’ Main. Taking the green flag from the second row of the 12-lap semi, Forsberg would take a liking to the reworked surface, as he was able to race his way to second.

Chasing after Shane Golobic, Forsberg would take the second place finish and punch his ticket into the 30-lap feature event where he would grid the field from the 15th starting position.

On a racy surface, Forsberg would pick up a couple of positions early as he raced his way towards the Top-10. Jumping into 10th on a lap nine restart, Forsberg would kind of stall out as he searched both high and low trying to make something happen.

Getting out of shape on the 16th lap, the Auburn, CA driver would get gathered back up and opt to end his night early as he retired to the pit area where he would be scored 20th.

“We talked after words and we are going to make a big change this week to see if we can start to answer some questions on what our issue is,” Forsberg added. “I know this isn’t how we hoped our season would be going after the first weekend, but we are working on getting it going in the right direction again.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2018.

ON TAP: Forsberg and F&F Racing are right back to work on Saturday night in Placerville, CA.
