Forsberg’s Night at Placerville Speedway Turns Sour

PETERSEN MEDIA- Having a pretty good night going on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Andy Forsberg would see that drastically change as issues on lap 1 and 25 ultimately relegated him to a DNF as he would be scored 16thon this night.
“We had a pretty event-free night going, and I should have known that was going to change,” Forsberg said with a smirk. “My guys had the car really good, and I got a little over confident and the cushion sucked me in on the start of the race and I did everything but get upside down. Started over from the back, got back up to sixth and coming the checkered got upside down and ended up 16th.”
On a rare hooked up surface late in the season at Placerville Speedway to get things started, Forsberg would go out and time the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine in fourth fastest in time trials before finishing third in heat race competition.
After a couple of weeks of poor pill draw efforts from guru, Jimmy Wall, Wall was back on his game Saturday night as the one pill put Forsberg on the pole of the 25-lap affair as he looked to put the track title away on this night.
With Andy Gregg getting the early jump, Forsberg would attack the cushion in turns one and two but it would attack back as he would catch the curb wrong and bring his machine to a stop facing the wrong way.
Going back to 20th, Forsberg would do a great job of working his way forward as restarts would treat him well and he was soon back up into the Top-10.
Looking like he would salvage his night from the tail, contact coming to the checkered would send Forsberg flipping down the front stretch, and he would come to a stop just feet from the finish line as he ended up being scored 16th.
With the way the race played out, the points battle is far from over heading into the season finale in a few weeks, as Forsberg now sits atop the standings with just a 12 point cushion.
“To be honest I wasn’t even thinking about points coming from the tail, I was just focused on getting us back to the front,” Forsberg said. “Looks like we will have a heckuva battle going into the finale, and hopefully I can finish this off for the F&F guys.”
F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2019.
