PETERSEN MEDIA- The Petaluma Speedway surface was a dream come true for Andy Forsberg on Saturday night. The heavy and rough conditions played into the Auburn, CA driver’s favor, however something went sour in the suspension during feature event,  but Mr. Excitement was able to hang on to sixth place finish.

“I love when tracks are sticky and rough like that and lick my chops when the come around about three or four times a year, but something went sour during the race he said. “I hate to make lame excuses, but it wasn’t reacting like it should have with how it was set up, but we were able to hang on.”

Timing his Lucas Oil/Pit Stop USA/HRP backed No. x1 machine in second fastest during qualifications, Forsberg would pick up a third place finish in heat race action to transfer himself into the dash.

Finishing in the sixth spot of the dash, Forsberg would line his entry up in the third row of the feature event, until the outside pole sitter came to a stop during the race’s initial start, and Forsberg was able to move up into the second row.

On the rough and sticky Petaluma Speedway clay, Forsberg bounced around, as he fought what looked to be a very evil race car, with something amiss.

Though the car was not perfect, Forsberg worked around the speedway as be battled with the likes of Sean Becker, and Shane Golobic during the feature event, as the fought over a top five position.

With a handful of double-file restarts mixed in the race, Forsberg was able to hang tough, and cross the stripe with a sixth place finish when the 30-lap feature came to a close.

“It was just another funky night for us, not in anyone’s control, really,” he added. “The guys worked hard all night, and really had a good night going, it’s just unfortunate the way things worked out. We have a couple more races left this year, and hopefully we can pick up a couple of wins.”

F&F Racing would like to thank Lucas Oil, Pit Stop USA, HRP, CRV, Inventory Sales, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Wilwood, Kaizer Wheels, K&N, Roseville Precision, Autism Speaks, FK Rod Ends, and PT Shocks for their support in 2014.
