PETERSEN MEDIA- One week removed from winning the Sprint Car Challenge Tour’s season opening event at Placerville Speedway, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing returned to the track to open the weekly points action as marked men fresh off of the 2018 track title.

“It wasn’t our best night of racing, but it wasn’t bad by any means,” Andy Forsberg said. “The track was extremely racy considering the weather we have been getting, we just couldn’t really getting going and ended up sixth.”

With 27 cars packed into the Placerville Speedway pit area, Forsberg would get he elbows up and time the Econo Lube-N-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine in fifth fastest in time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the six-time and defending Placerville Speedway titlist would keep the status quo and finish third moving into the feature event and making himself eligible for the redraw.

Pulling a good pill again, the three would line the Auburn, CA driver up in the second row for the first 25-lap affair of the weekly point season. Slipping back to fourth when the race came to life, Forsberg would search high and low around the ¼ mile bullring battling the likes of Justin Sanders and Sean Becker.

The first 14-laps would click off incident free, and when the first yellow flag did fly Forsberg found himself in the fifth position. Battling with Kalib Henry when the action resumed, Forsberg would fall back to sixth.

Trying everything up his sleeve to get back into the Top-Five, Forsberg would be unsuccessful as he took the checkered flag back in the sixth position.

“I made some mistakes and it cost us a couple of positions,” Forsberg added. “It is a long year, and we have some pretty good speed in these first few races, so I am definitely excited to see what we can do night in and night out.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2019.
