PETERSEN MEDIA- Putting a couple of tough outings behind him, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing got back on track at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night as the Auburn, CA driver finished third.
“After the last few races we will certainly take the third place finish and move on,” Andy Forsberg said. “We didn’t do anything crazy and were right where we needed to be. Thanks to all of these guys for working hard all night long.”
Timing the Econo Lube-n-Tune- and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine in sixth quickest in time trials, Forsberg would line up in the second row of his heat race.
Up on the front row before the race went green, Forsberg would take Geoff Ensign to school around the ¼ mile bullring as he drove away from the field and picked up the important heat race win.
Moving into the redraw, the pill put the familiar No. x1 machine in the third row for the 25-lap ‘A’ Main event. Mixing it up with the lead pack, Forsberg would race inside the Top-5 during much of the night.
Picking up some spots late in the race due to attrition, ‘Mr. Excitement’ would find himself in third and chasing after the lead duo of Kalib Henry and Sean Becker late.
Hitting his marks, Forsberg could never get close enough to challenge, but was able to cap his night with a podium.
“To not be spectacular, and still end up third says a lot about our team,” Forsberg said. “We put ourselves in a good position all night, and even though we weren’t as good as we wanted to be, still able to pick up a podium.”
