PETERSEN MEDIA: Steven Tiner saw his Trophy Cup come to and end during the Friday night B Main after he was involved in an early tangle. The damage endured was too much to bounce back from, and Tiner opted to call it a weekend.

“We had really good speed during both programs they ran on Friday, but bad luck really plagued us,” Tiner said. “We lost brakes during the early feature, and we got collected in a mess during the Friday B.”

Timing in 22nd fastest during qualifications for the Thursday program that was ran Friday afternoon, Tiner had his elbows up during his heat race as he picked up the win and moved straight to the 30-lap feature event.

Lining up 18th for the 30-lap A, Tiner was able to move forward on a surface that was slick up to a thick cushion. Making passes at will, Tiner would quickly find his way inside the Top-10, and he looked for more.

Getting into the seventh spot just past the halfway point, brake issues would ultimately due Tiner in, as he came to a stop in turns one and two on the 18th lap.

Done for the race, Tiner would go back to his pit area and make preparations for the Friday program that was being ran later that night. Timing the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 machine in sixth fastest, Tiner would get collected in an opening lap mess in his heat race, and would be relegated to the B main.

Lining up in the sixth row of the 20-lap B, another car would spin in turns one and two on lap one, and Tiner would get collected in the mess, and have extensive damage to his machine.

Going over back in his pit area, Tiner opted to call it a weekend, and his Trophy Cup would come to an early end.

“It is disappointing to have our weekend end the way it did,” Tiner said. “This is a race I always look forward to, and I seem to have the worst luck during it. I have at on of people who step up and help out for this race, and I thank them a ton for their support.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Elma Lanes, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-32, Wins-2, Top 5’s-12, Top 10’s-17

ON TAP: At this timer, Tiner is unsure if he will take part in the Civil War finale on November 7th in Stockton, CA or not.
