Frustrating Trip To Placerville Speedway For Steven Tiner
PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting back to work on Saturday night with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, Steven Tiner would leave a bit frustrated as he would finish 11th in the ‘B’ Main.
“It’s a tough deal with so many cars, but I feel like we are better than not making the feature event,” Steven Tiner said. “We really have to be on our game each and every night we hit the track with these guys, and have some work to do for Friday.”
Timing his Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious backed No. 94 machine in eighth fastest in his qualifying group, Tiner would line up eighth in his heat race.
Finishing in the ninth spot, the Visalia, CA pilot would be forced into the 15-lap ‘B’ Main where he would find himself in the 13th starting spot with just the top-seven finishers moving on to the night’s 40-lap feature event.
On a very slick racing surface, Tiner was just unable to get the drive he needed to make a charge at a transfer position. Able to pick up a few spots, Tiner would close his night with an 11th place finish in the semi.
“You’re bound to have bad nights in the sport, the trick is to just limit them,” Tiner said. “We will shake this one off, and do what we can to be better at the Peter Murphy Classic.”
Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Kevin Sharrah Designs, Prior Engineering, B&B Racing Engines, ART, System One Pro Ignition, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.
2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-2, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-0
ON TAP: Tiner will be in action on Friday night in Tulare, CA with the SCCT during the Peter Murphy Classic before returning to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.
