Fuel Issues Sideline Mason Moore

PETERSEN MEDIA- Making his first start at the Silver Dollar Speedway since May, Mason Moore’s reunion was cut short as a fuel issue left him sidelined from the night’s feature event.

“It felt good to be back at Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, but unfortunately we had a fuel leak develop as we were lining up and we could not get it fixed in time,” Moore said.

Laying down a very nice lap in qualifying time trials, Moore would time the Coors Light/ITC Service Group/LRB Race Products No. 22 machine in fifth fastest.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Princeton, CA driver would battle with Andy Forsberg during the opening stages of the race. With Forsberg getting away, Moore would hang on to finish in the second position and earn a spot in the nightly A Main redraw.

Pulling the four-pill, Moore was scheduled to line up on the outside of the second row for the 25-lap feature event. With cars firing, Moore noticed fuel getting all over his leg. Opting to go to the work area, the race would go green before Moore’s team could make repairs, and his night would come to an early end.

“It was one of those deals where I needed to be safe, and we just did not have time to get the issue resolved,” Moore added. “We were really fast all night long, and hopefully we can be just as fast this week.”

Mason and his team would like to thank Coors Light, ITC Service Group, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, JRI Shocks, Platinum Powder Coating, Selover Paint and Body, and Moore Insurance Services for their support in 2015.
