PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night in Lemoore, CA, Garth Kasiner put together a nice charge through the field as he went from his 11th starting position to score a second place finish at the stripe.
Getting off to an uncharacteristic start on Saturday night, Kasiner would time the West Hills Oil/CS9/Security Race Products backed No. 21G entry in 16th quickest in time trials with 21 cars checked into the pits.
Picking up a third place finish during his heat race, Kasiner would move to the feature event where he was slated to take the green flag from the 11th starting position.
On the slick surface, Kasiner was very patient as he opted to use the bottom groove of the racetrack initially before starting to search around and pick up his pace.
With the confidence of knowing his car was good enough to put anywhere he needed to, Kasiner would get back down on the bottom groove and continue to work his way through the Top-10.
As he neared the Top-Five, Kasiner would again get crafty as much of the Top-Five also worked the bottom of the speedway. Knowing he could go to the cushion, Kasiner got his elbows up and made some nice moves to get into the fourth spot.
With the laps clicking down, Kasiner would make a nice move on the bottom to take over the third position, and would then find himself on a dogfight for the second position.
Going to the outside, Kasiner would run alongside for a handful of laps before getting the spot coming to the white flag. Able to fend off his competitor, Kasiner would close his night out with a second place finish.
